Here I took a head from a full low poly model I had modeled and textured in Maya 8. As this was my first project in ZBrush 3 I used this as a learning process as well as attempting to produce a higher level of realism than my previous 'cartoony' work. I used many techniques to detail and model the skin defects from alpha masks to a simple add/subract brush with noise applied.

  • its cool but it seems like every model with zbrush is always symmetrical, what if you didnt want a symmetrical model?

  • If you look quickly I'd forgive you for thinking it was symmetrical, if you look closer you'll see all the finer details like wounds, scars, moles etc etc are all placed unsymmetrically. All you do is turn symmetry off when you get to the detailing stage.

  • hey can i add u on my msn, i would be interested in talking to u about 3d and concept art as i am doing it my self and think your work is really good thanks

  • yeah, of course. I hope we can help each other out

  • IT'S THE EVIL ZOMBIE DUDE FROM "I AM LEGEND" :D

  • by looking at the side of his head i can figure out what he's saying. " WHU SHOT MEEEEEH!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!??!?!?

  • its great, neck needs a little work though seems to long instead front to back, and to narrow side to side.....

  • Whats with the second lump on the back of his neck? Looks outta place.. Anyway looks pretty cool

  • that was awesome, one little thing, the ears don't look right, but other than that, FANTASTICO JOB!

  • damn nice!

  • @ozanimations7931 I think what they were getting at is that the anatomy is visually symmetrical, altering the shape of one eye, the hang or height of one brow, the flare of each nostril or even making the lips a bit lopsided would have pushed this a bit further. It is very well done, just a slight bit more attention to finer details would take it from good to great. Regardless, better than I can do at the moment, well done.

  • I clicked this, because i saw Louis!! :p

  • amazing

  • You would just paint with symmetry turned on then when your done, turn it off and do what you want to only effect one side.
