  • what about playing barefoot?;)

  • What about it?

I have organ shoes and I usually play with those on, but I don't think they're very... attractive looking, so I don't like using them in videos when my feet are seen. I can play well enough with sneakers or without shoes...

    :D

  • ehm are you prudery?a typical reaction on my question;)or smelly cheesy feet?

  • I think it's unnecessary how some organists get hyped about what kind of footwear is used. My teacher just plays in regular shoes too. It's a sturdy console, 70 years old and just starting to have problems. We've had problems with the pedal springs (this had nothing to do with footwear). The springs replaced and I still think the pedal pressure is way too light. My teacher has wanted this organ replaced for 15 years now. It's a sad example of a romantic organ ruined during the reform movement.

  • hey, just so ya know, this turbonightrider ^person is a freak who tries to get organists to post vids of themselves playing barefoot.. has some obsession with feet apparently. you might see some of his comments on my videos lol.

    great vid BTW!!! :D

  • Hahaha okay. Whatever floats one's boat I suppose.

    Thanks!

  • From the first note you know that the composer has very deep feelings and a great passion for music.

    Very good! 5 *

  • Great improvisation! I got quite mesmerised

  • Right. All good suggestions which make perfect sense. Now I just need to figure out some way to gget the camera higher...

I'll figure something out! I need to get a tripod for my camera!

It should be pretty easy to accomplish after that.

  • Just make sure we can see your feet on the pedals because there's a lot going on down there and just from a little experience having played a theatre organ in a pizza place out here (a long time ago) it's the most visible part of an organist and fascinates people that one can make music with your feet. Like I said, the shoes work, keep using them to film. It drives me crazy that most people who film refuse to show that. To me the pedals are the most important part of the organ to play.
