You can't blame the filmmakers for wanting to use Grieg's most famous piece of music in a way that would entertain children. The intention was to create a sequence much like the puppet show scene in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. I thought it was fine. Unfortunately alot of critics did. This was the scene at 1:08 that lead film critic PAULINE KAEL to use the line, "who could anticipate the pasty pudgy faces".

Won't it be wonderful to have the clips of this 1970 film in 70mm ? Very difficult to upload it here nowadays . . . But thank you !
