  • It's also important to mention that you need to apply a little of brake pressure in the outside wing in the WO.

  • If you apply too much brake before you are directly under the glider you run the risk of pitching the glider up, this will upset the timing giving low energy, resulting in a collapse that can be very dynamic for a wingover. timing is the important thing in good WOs, not the size.

  • @CombatPara 600m??? I'd say 300 for a beginner... But you're right, there is alot which can go wrong dooing wongovers and to learn them properly (i.e. getting higher than the wing without loosing pressure) is hard and takes time. Still, if you want to learn it you still have to "give it a try"!

  • letting the wing dive and then turning the opposite way was what i was trying in the weekend. I couldnt believe how smooth and cool a feeling it was doing it.

  • you should also mention that you only should practice in heights at least 600m above ground and clear of any obstacles like ridges (unlike in this video!!!) as you will get a collapse at some point while training wingovers. In addition, the wingover is the acro-manoeuvre where the most people get hurt or die, because it doesn't seem that hard and frightening so many people give it a try -even if they can't do it.
