@pudaokil - I would have to disagree. With have all these fancy notions that people fought to the death and they were more willing to die than nowadays. They were just people like now...all those stories are just stories. And techniques not so good back then. They get better with time.

@gorfjorf2112112 Go back 10 generations and those masters fought to the death,no rules,no rounds,no referees,UFC is a sport,you want to talk combat,any navy SEAL would just shoot them.Going into combat without a weapon is just plain stupid.Hand to hand combat is and always was a last resort.

Students generally get better than their teachers. That's how every art gets better and better. Go back 10 generations and those master were crap compared to masters now.
