Tutorial on how to create a tree-of-life pendant (a little beaded tree). Inspired by a comment posted on another of my videos, I've spent months making many little trees. Some worked, some didn't. Here's the one that I like the best. You can see some of the rejected trees on my Twitter site @CamilleSharon.

  • the store near me only has 18 GA round is that ok to use?

  • @luv2bellydanz I have some 18 GA wire that I'm looking at right now, and I think you could use it for the loop if you are making small trees, but it will probably be too flimsy for large trees. Because of how thick it is, it might not be the best for the branches, but I don't want to discourage you from giving it a try. You never know, you might like how it turns out.

  • I had one ? can you use as many bead and any beads you want

    ?

  • @yankee23john You can use any kind of beads you want, and as many as look good to you.

  • I'm trying to wrap a quartz (one that comes to a point) to make a pendant out of it. Either I can't get it tight enough or I get it so tight that the wire breaks. I'm using 24 gauge wire (the cheap kind from walmart). So what do I do?? Is it the quality of the wire i'm using or am I missing something?

  • @nutmeg1096 Without seeing a picture of what kind of wrap you are using, I can only guess. 24 GA wire should be thick enough. Is the wire you are using made from something unusual? I've wrapped crystal points before and have broken my wire. In my case, it is from twisting it too tightly. My technique now is to twist what I can with my fingers, then use my pliers to make one final tightening twist in close to the stone. I've had pretty good results with that.

  • i've always been fascinated with the tree of life..wonderful

  • Yes sorry I meant the 18 GA for the loop:) thanks for you help:)

  • I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made one but my top doesn't look so great but I'm sure I'll get better as time goes on!

  • WOW, that is perfect, so easy to make and you really made a great tutorial, just one suggestion, perhaps it would be better if the light would be shining from behind the camera but it's not important at all. One question, is there any way to make the beads yourself, or use anything else instead, cause I don't know if I can buy them over here? Maybe you explained something similar in another video, I just discovered it so will check them all out and ignore my question if it's already answered.

  • Where did you get that necklace you're wearing? Did you do it yourself?

    It looks pretty good!

  • Thought youd like to know, I made 2 tree of life pendants. They are beautiful! The only thing Is my trunk is messy and bulky. Maybe I didn't twist the branches enough. So that I had to much excess wire.? I used copper. I also threw in a handful of another color bead because I was low on white. It turned out great. Thx for sharing.
