"Automated Testing" is automating the manual testing process currently in use. This requires that a formalized "manual testing process", currently exists in the company or organization.
Automation is the use of strategies, tools and artifacts that augment or reduce the need of manual or human involvement or interaction in unskilled, repetitive or redundant tasks.

  • What about the disadvantages of automation?

Automation does not remove human error. In fact it can amplify and repeat human error. If automation removed human error, then there'd be no need to test any software -- because software development is automation.

Robust tests? If even the slightest change in software code does not break our automated tests, that is evidence of the insufficiency of our tests. Robust is not necessarily good.

  • Good Topic. Please be little bit slow. Gives a feeling that some one is reading from book.

Not a very good way to teach any concept.

    Presentation needs to be improved.
