Well to start with it runs alongside Lake Union in Seattle so the view's worth the visit especially if you like wooden boats. Sailing happens to be Robbie Bumpus's passionate hobby.

He's an absolute 'Master Craftman', if you're looking for furniture to be designed that's remarkably unique as well as beautifully utilitarian you need look no further. After studying architectural design in London, England he then moved to New York City .where he began his woodworking career. While working as a cabinet and furniture maker, he studied with a Master French Restorer who exposed him to the environment of fine antique furniture and the closely held traditional restoration craft. He's unusually skilled and talented as an experienced and versatile furniture restorer.

His specialties include structural and surface repairs, veneering, inlay, staining, shellac polishing and lacquer as applied to 18th, 19th, and 20th century European and American furniture.

He also builds reproduction pieces and enjoy commissions for new furniture and decorative arts objects, including boxes and turned work.

  • What a Craftsman; I wonder what he'd do with some of my recycled wine barrels; hummn.

  • very inspiring vid

  • I really like this video; I like the craftsman in it and am amazed at all he knows. I don't know why, but I never would have thought that a furniture maker could also made a boat. Man, he must be so good at this. I bet he does some handsome custom furniture work. The music went well with the piece, especially when it got to the boat making. Isn't it good to know that there's a craftsman out there that can still do this work, it would be good to have furniture to 'hand down' as we once did.
