when I first watched this ep I was so effing shocked and started to cry my eyes out! my mom thought I went wacko... you just can't do that! guess you can but it is no cool my friends.

@tvvideos365 no the reason she died is because she wanted to leave the show at the middle of season 3 but the ending was a lot more sensible.

Man, I still remember how pissed people were at this scene. :P I remember coming into my Calculus class the next day and pretty much ALL the girls were talking about it.

I don't think Marissa was killed because Josh wanted to reinvent the show. Josh can't be that stupid. I mean, killing off the second most important character & screwing up the main love story on the show - how the hell would that HELP the show in any way? Especially since the ratings were already really low in season 3. He had to have known the fans would be devastated & no one wants the O.C. w/ out Marissa. I think that was just a cover-up for Mischa leaving the show. I blame her. RIP MARISSA<3

I'm 14 so I was only 7 when this aired so I've been watching the seasons on DVD and I am hooked. So far I'm in season 1 and I searched the oc and this came up although it ruined the story I truly thank you so I don't watch this episode with anyone else because I wept like a baby as soon as the hallelujah chorus was sung.
