  • Civ IV just doesn't take it'self seriously. Everything has a comical attitude about it.

  • This is totally the best, the most serious and most complicated (hadest) game in Civilizations Series. My fav Civilizations game.

  • I've got Civ5 and I think it's horrible. I've played Civ 3,Play The World(blah), Conquest(awesome) and Civ 4(gret online) before playing 5. I have a friend of mine who is totally NOT a strategy gamer (think mind-free gamer who plays shooters and action games[?] ) and he liked the 5 because of it's graphics and that tells a lot about CIv5. Great graphics but bad game. I personally would go for even 2D version like Civ3 with redesigned interface, units etc. than better graphics and bad gameplay.

  • @theschizz92 Civilization 3 did have that setup. So did Civ 2 and Civ 4. I'm not sure about 1, since I've unfortunately never played it, but if you used the num pad to control your units, it works the exact same way. Just use 7, 9, 1, and 2 to go diagonally. :D

  • The only thing civ 3 miss is the lack of realism in battle. There is always a Spearman ready to destroy my Panzer!

    Best strategy game ever!

  • I don't know about anyone else but I think that though Civ 5 has many flaws, I think that having hexagons was a good idea. I wish that civ 3 had that setup back in the day.

  • Civ 5 is probably the worst, but I can't distinguish between the others. However, avoid Civilization Revolution like the plague. It is basically the bastard child of the Civilization series.

  • Civ. 3 was the best and it had some great scenarios like WWII, napoleon and middle ages (they were all good to be truthful)

  • Civilization three was the best civilization game I've played thus far, and I've played all of them.

  • So because of this I'll definitely be buying Civ III again..they both have there pros and cons.

  • Ok so I bought Civ IV.

Perks: More complexity, religion addition, civics additions, complex diplomacy, more to do and build from workers.

Cons: Serious music downgrade (It's all Baba Yetu, nothing else is good), nerfed resources..railroads got a HUGE nerf, very displeased about that it limits big boost growth in the industrial age which you NEED. Too many worker choices makes automated workers extremely less desirable..almost too much complexity makes mid-game transition frustrating.
