The Stifen Group is a fruit and vegetables processing company originally based in Tunesia. Due to the growing demand for frozen products the company decided to establish a new factory in Egypt. As agriculture and horticulture are stimulated by the Egyptian government and therefore fruit and vegetables are relatively cheap, this made the Stifen Group decide to set up a new factory just there with good possiblities for storage and IQF. For this factory Comron International supplied the complete NH3 freeze installation with a cooling capacity of 720kW at -40°C for the new purchased Frigoscandia flow freezer, realized in cooperation with a local contractor. Delivered were: three Sabroe screw compressors (SAB 202, SAB 163 and SAB 128), one Baltimore condenser, liquid separators, Helpman evaporators, specially designed and custom-made switch-board with soft starters, plus a Trane water chiller 600kW.
