Baseball's all-time leader in hits is blacklisted and ineligible for the Hall of Fame. However, last time I checked, the Hall of Fame was home to the plaques of some rather dubious characters...

Well there's 10.01 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Rose lied to Giamatti's board of inquiry and when caught in the lies, signed an agreement to being banned from baseball. Rose did it to himself, first by gambling on baseball while a coach, then lying about it, then by agreeing to the ban in an ill-considered attempt to save his own ass.
If he had simply 'fessed-up, taken the heat like a man, done the time and the penance, then baseball would have let him back in.

True assholes were Steinbrenner and Reggie Jackson. I'd have to rate ball players who took performance enhancing drugs a far more serious offense than gambling on games. Hornsby a member of the K.K.K. so what ?!? Who the hell likes integration?

There is indeed some facts to this guy's story. Hornsby was indeed a Klan member. And everyone knows about Ty Cobb. Look, I don't like Pete Rose one bit myself. As far as I'm concerned, he's an arrogant, egotistical bonehead. But the truth is he belongs in the so called Hall of Fame. Why? Because the "fame' should be accepting of players' performances ON THE FIELD-nothing else. If that's NOT the case, then other past hall of famers should be removed from the "club". NUFF SAID!!

First of all, I am not trying to justify any of that. But the only reason that gambling is considered unforgivable is because of the Black Sox scandal. Baseball almost did not survive that.

PISS ON HALL OF FAME . I don't need that country club and its sportswriters to tell me who is great . I watched the game . People today get too caught up in the HOF , and as a result too many great players are ignored or put in a second class , which is unfortunate . Pete Rose is a winner .
