@parishj3 He's obviously a noob when it comes to SYNC. In my Fiesta, all I have to say is "play artist porcupine tree" or "play sirius channel 35" and it does it. I've never had to go through prompts like that. Maybe the Focus is different, but that wouldn't make much sense since it's at least $5k more. SYNC is incredibly smart, and using a siri-like system wouldn't make sense since siri relies on a server for its voice recognition.
It's a good idea. But it's too many steps to get to what you want. You have to say navigation. You have to say music. You have too many steps. If you want it to actually be good, you need it to be like Siri (voice assistant on iPhone ) you say a while complete sentence and there you go. You would say "find a nearby ice cream shop" and it'll find it. Instead of saying navigation. Food. Line one. Etc. too many steps can make you think too much. And you'll be thinking too much about what you have
To those asking: No, it doesn't have to say "Please choose a command" every time. He had the prompt level set to Novice Level. Set it to Advanced and all you hear is the chime.
I agree, he didn't do the demo well..I have a 2011 Edge w/ MyFord Touch system and I know it inside and out. The beauty of the system is there are 3 ways to give commands: 1) Voice, 2) Steering Wheel Buttons, 3) Touch Screen. You can use any combo of all three. It is quite slick.
@peteyification well, there are two modes. 1 noob mode (he´s using) and advanced mode that works like u know.
