This is one practice that I'm all for. They catch plenty of drunk drivers at these stops. Its better to catch them like this than only the ones they see visually swerving all over the road.
If would only be Nazi if they stopped you and searched your car randomly. Nearly all the time, its just "How are you? Have you been drinking? Have a good night"

Sure its supposedly to keep us safe from the "drunks" but really, how many vehicles did they impound? How many tickets did they right? How much MONEY did they make?!
