  • saying that the 4:2:0 of the f3 is no better than the 5d is wrong. The latitude of the f3 is still very superior even compressed. And this camera was not meant to compete with 5d, thats the sony fs-100. The f3 was meant to steal the indie crowd from red.

  • A good point, the F3's chip has got a higher contrast latitude; I was only referring to the compression and bit rate not being any better, which most broadcasters see as a more important factor than latitude. I agree the F3 is not meant to rival the 5D, however a lot of people saw it that way prior to release, a miss conception I try to correct in this video. Our FS100 will be here soon ready to compete with the 5D and of course we'll be putting out a video to give you the low down ASAP.

  • My opinion is that the image quality at first hand is better from the 5d mkII....and the price range of the equpimant, with 24 k dollers you can gear a 5 d mkII for great video production, from sony you get the camera and the 3 lenses, not enogh,

what i am saying is that the price is a very big difference

  • My opinion is. The Sony wins in both tests. Against the 5D. The Sony looked brighter, While the 5D looked darker. Compared to the Xf305 the Sony looked more natural. While the canon looked like it was color corrected in post. Thats what i think Thumbs Up if you agree.

  • @2isTheNew1 The 5D is not a video or cinema camera. Period. Just like the F3 wasn't designed to take stills. To your point, the 5D rules at stills, not video.

  • this camera is a dream, i hope one day to buy it

  • I can has free hire?

  • Question. Why does he say that 4:2:0 won't be accepted by most broadcasters when there are tons of commercials being shot on dslrs? So if a well composed shot is presented that looks good to the eye, but has a 4:2:0 colorspace, it will be rejected because of color data?
