Jeff Chang's 《弦歌有你》张信哲 X 交响乐 演唱会2008 - Part 6

On 3/15, I went with Chevonne to Jeff Chang's concert at the MAX PAVILLION Expo Singapore, my first in many years! It was truly an amazing experience in the way they themed it, performed with live orchestra band! Wow, the experience was truly unique and we enjoyed the concert throughout, mermerising in the melody and Jeff's songs. I was telling Chev, "To come to such a romantic concert, I was glad to have her on my side. This concert is perfect for lovers!" :)

Jeff performed with the NAFA orchestra. The concert started with an opening of a medley of some of this best hits played by the orchestra. All in all there was 5 parts. Started with the Renessiance period of Art. Basically, the theme of the entire concert was with Art. His songs were segmented into the various Art period. Part 4 was the period of Impressionism, Part 5 was Modern period.

The orchestra was on stage the whole period, together with his chorus group and band. The band master handled the grand piano and basically, just played non-stop from the start till the end!

There were interludes between the various part, to signify a changeover in period.

Interlude 1 (Renessiance to Part 2): Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, op. 13, Pathétique
Interlude 2 (Part 2 to Part 3): Carmen, French opera by Georges Bizet
Interlude 3 (Part 3 to Impressionism): ?
Interlude 4 (Impressionism to Modern): ?

Throughout the entire concert, paintings of different artists were shown on 3 big screen at the stage. Quite interesting in how he themed everything accordingly! Artists like Klimt were shown with some brief introduction by Jeff.

A very very interesting segment was he sang two songs to the tune of chinese opera, or 京剧. One of them, 牡丹忧 showed interplay with the 京剧. He sang some songs from his new album, expected to come out in April.

The concert had some refreshing changes to some of his older hits, especially to 过火!!! There was a sing along from the audience, which all participated very enthusiastically! He added a bossa nova feel to 过火, and the audience sang to the chorus part (silence from the orchestra & Jeff).
