Looks like a Midland 48XL.
These can be expanded to around 400 channels i think.
Standard they are 40 UK FM / 40 Midband.channels.
Feature packed,like scan,10 memory channels,auto squelch etc.
New price in UK is around £110. (sell very well on ebay in UK)

Seems like a noob has an overrange. That will not bring you farer. The realaistations can't give more than maximum of power away.
