Dan Way, the editor of the Chapel Hill Herald, recently published a column decrying the town's consideration of a law restricting the chaining of dogs. Dan started with the usual name-calling, characterizing supporters as Birkenstock-wearing, Volvo-driving busybodies, and trotted out the standard talking points, claiming that current anti-cruelty laws were sufficient. You know, serious journalism.
I made this video to set the record straight. Animal Control visited this dog soon after we shot this video, and determined that they could do nothing -- her owners were in compliance with the law as it existed.
And by the way, I don't own any Birkenstocks. Waterproof boots are standard for fence-building.
So did this dear momma dog ever get fenced and spayed?
Thanks, Coalition, for proving by your right actions that Mr. (Wrong) Way doesn't know whereof he speaks.
