This is a walk-through demonstration of how to store food in Mylar bags that are first vacuum sealed and then heat sealed. The vacuum sealer is a SnorkelVak; the heat sealer is a Hot Jaw. Also shows the use of oxygen absorbers and desiccants.

  • @MyDaddysgirl44 I considered poking a hole in the interior bag. However, without a hole, the interior bag provides an additional oxygen barrier -- which I think is more important in the long term to food storage lifetime, (more oxygen can seep through the bags than is left after a poor vacuum).

  • hey there New Zealand!! Good video.. I have just one suggestion.. maybe if you poked a small hole in the bag of raisins it would pull all the air out of both bags..:) Love your vaccum sealer!!
