you're not nuts, but the idea was- She stood up in the rafters above the news set looking down on everyone else, had a computer up there- I never understood the point.

Ok, so am I nuts, or do I remember on WRGB in the mid 1990s a piece of their studio set called "Skycenter"? I seem to remember Liz Bishop would broadcast from there while others broadcasted from the floor during the early evening newscast. Then again, I was 7, so I could have imagined it...If someone remembers or even has footage, let me know

I remember that circle 6 from back when I was a toddler in the 80s

You're correct. WRGB has a "Retro 6" section on their site now, with classic Channel 6 moments and segments. Still a work in progress though.

I have a 1990 newscast I'll have to post sometime
-
The "News center 6" moniker was used from 1974 to January 25th, 1998, and that Ident(seen at 0:09) was also used for when WRGB was getting ready to sign off the air for the night.

I think the short female on the far right might be Mary Beth Wenger.
-
I think one of the ladies is Liz Bishop, the other being Judy Sanders (at the anchor desk at the end of the intro)
-
The circle 6 logo and NewsCenter 6 are identical to the newscast of WECT-TV in Wilmington, NC at that time.

Who wants to guess who the people are that are walking in during the bump shot...
I think the bald guy is Jack Arnecke and the other male is Ken Screven.
Any ideas on the females?
I wish that I had more of this to show ... for whatever reason, that's all I had on the tape! Sorry...
