Before watching, a bit of background information on the pretext of this call is best understood otherwise it will probably go over your head. This prank call I did was at an old job I had at a company called Messages On Hold. What they do is provide the "On Hold" audio marketing programs that you hear when you call a business and you get put on hold , getting a bit of a marketing blurb about the company you are calling.
My job was to educate businesses on how Messages On Hold can work for them and we did this by creating a demonstration of how it would sound should they be put on hold. We did this by talking various ideas about their business, asking questions specific to what they do. It was a very enjoyable role as you got to get into the nitty gritty of how a business works and how to get the most out of their marketing. At the end of a call, we would play a 30 second audio sample of what they could play on hold. Now for a proper client, we would do a professional sounding, slick production.
Now after leaving the company , I trained up my replacement (Mia who is in this call) and one of the traditions amongst the sales team was to play a prank on a new staff member, so from my house I called up Mia pretending to be "Jason" from a porta loo company called "Splashdown". Now some of you may have heard of Splashdown from the famous movie called "Kenny" ...... so I decided to add to the flavour of the call and speak the same way Kenny speaks . Luckily Mia had not seen the movie so wasn't aware it was a piss take from the beginning! When it came time for her to play the demo to "Jason" we had something special planned for her ..... (this was one of the first calls she spoke to so she was still learning the role at the time)
The full call went for 20 odd minutes, so there was a lot of gaps and irrelevant stuff spoken about, so I have edited it into the best 5 minutes of the call . Its split up with "buzzes" throughout to signal the end of a section .
Haha reminds me of the days at intelecom! The gay guy calling the hairdressers with diamond tipped motorola's was my favorite ;-)
