Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Volkswagen Jetta was redesigned during the 2005 model year. The new design entered production in December 2004, and the earlier design, which is classified as a small car, was produced through October 2004. Note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door.

The frontal offset crash test ratings also apply to the hatchback version of the Jetta, called the Volkswagen Rabbit beginning with 2006 models, which is classified as a small car due its shorter overall length and lower weight. The ratings also apply to the station wagon version of the Jetta, called the Jetta SportWagen, beginning with 2009 models.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the roof rail.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia indicate that lower leg injuries would be possible. Head acceleration from the roof rail hit was low.

  • @UberWagen the 2.5L engine is offered in Canada as well, and are not made in Mexico. It is made in Germany, just like the rest of the car.

"Volkswagen most recently came out with a new five-cylinder developed (loosely) from half of a Lamborghini Gallardo V10 engine"

  • I think the Volkswagen Jetta looks like a duck, lol ..

  • @ricardoandre1990 The 2.5L engine is only offered in the America's, so they're making it in Mexico! I understand economics man. You pay lower tarriffs only importing parts instead of an entire car, blah blah blah. Don't be so harsh man, it's the Internet. I've seen blocks out of the Turbo engines too that clearly say "Brazil" or "Mexico" on the block.

  • @UberWagen you idiot the parts are from germany. i know i own one of these and ive replaced parts on it. all of them have said germany... they send the parts to mexico to be assmblmed so then they can send em to the Americas. its cheaper to send parts from germany and assembled in mexico then assemble an entire car and send and entire car on a ship thousands of miles. Get your facts straight before you decide to comment

  • @agusamadeus is.

  • the 2005-2010 Volkswagen Jetta/ Bora was assembled in

    Puebla, Mexico

    Changchun, China

    Uitenhage, South Africa

    Aurangabad, India

    Kaluga, Russia

    Jakarta, Indonesia

    Luanda, Angola

    Algiers, Algeria

  • Is not safe

  • @FLABEX224 No. The parts are from Brazil and Mexico.

  • @UberWagen so it still has parts from germany

  • @FLABEX224 I didn't understand that. That Jetta is built in Mexico.
