  • Really enjoyed the review, the narration and the overall info.

As always, another excellent work from wbw.

Guys, you are the best. The best site for everything about motorcycles and now I found your channel here.

I'm trying to reach as many people as I can to read your website.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks very much for the compliments!

  • How often should you clean and lube your chain? And can you use WD-40 to lubricate it?

  • Answers to all this and more on webBikeWorld!

  • wd-40 is too thing.

  • Some owners use WD-40, but it's not really recommended for lubricating a motorcycle chain. We have an entire discussion and photos on this topic on webBikeWorld.

  • @LaniRockster i got some silkolene chain lube recently, i really like the consistency of it, it clings very well and im sure none of it will fling off. i put some silkolene engine oil in my bike and noticed a big and immediate improvement in the clutch and gearbox (much smoother!) so i trust them 100% (+no i dont work for them!)

  • Yes, All motorcycle chains currently being manufactured use Buna-N (Nitrile) rubber for their o-rings and x-rings, and all these manufacturers recommend kerosene as a cleaner.

    Here's the formulation of WD-40:

80% Stoddard Solvent (that is similar to kerosene)

20% light lubricating oil, and a bit of fragrance.

Consequently, WD-40 is safe and effective as a chain cleaner and corrosion inhibitor.

  • @yakitoriPB Thats not 100% true WD -40 works nicely one of the best cleaners besides kerosene. in time the long term effects of WD 40 may brake down o-rings like (50,000)miles ,but by the time it would even start to effect your chain it would be time to replace your chain and sprocket any way ,but the choice is up to you

  • What about Wurth Dry chain Lube, heard good things so have just ordered some!

  • Silkolene Pro!!!! Dont leave home without it!

  • at work we use chesterton 601 chain drive pin & bushing lube on our chains that get covered in egg and run through water, its thin, slippery, repels just about anything, and penitrates well. So I thought hey why not give it a try on the motorcycle. It works awesome, alittle bit of slinging at first like most lubes, but overall the best lube ive ever used!

  • putoline ceramic is my choice dry's on white so not pretty but work for me.

  • wd 40 breaks down the buna orings on chains and seals. Not for use on parts that have rubber seals. Definitely not good for motorcycle chains.
