  • live version is good, but studio version is better.

  • oh, i like the live version way better.

  • Yeah, I liked the horns, they add a kind of ska sound to it, which is something I liked. But the great thing about the Clash is that their live versions sound different from their studio versions. In these days of iPods and MP3 players, I have many Clash tunes in both their live and studio versions. I was blown away by "Magnificent Seven" in live version, they pick up the tempo so much, it was amazing! Of course, the Clash were always amazing.

  • ya. i mean, i'm into ska, but i'm not really into the horns that much. i just don't really like it as much or whatever.

  • The live version is def better- the sounds of impro makes it more melodic and unpredicatble...which is what punk is all about!

  • so much better than studio version !!!

  • I'd say the studio version is better UNTIL the final minute. As much as I love the studio version, there isn't a single moment in it as powerful as the portion from 1:50 to 2:51

  • I love this live version because the horn line was magnificentlly translated to guitar by Mick so well. It took on a very different personality.

  • I used to have "From Here to Eternity Live" when I was younger...actually I had the original Sandinista in 3 LPs...I remember when I found it in the attic, amongst tons of other old LPs of my uncle's.

First song I've ever heared from The Clash was the first one of the first LP: "Magnificent seven". I was 16, now I'm 30 and I've never stopped to listen to them and to sing along their songs. It was my teenage soundtrack.

Never lived the "Clash" era, but I remember I was sad when Strummer died

  • Best Clash song of all times! (I think... =P)

  • Love this song - has a sort of Sci-Fi air about it...

  • This is such a good fuckin' song, I swear I feel my heart raise a fist to air every time I hear that opening riff. This whole album is absolutely amazing.

Joe, it's a much colder and dead fucking rock down here without you.

  • @Annrau This could seriously be one of the best songs ever.
