Paul Kuhn designed and plays the newly patented and trademarked Cellocaster, a cross between a guitar, cello, and a violin. Paul has opened for Sheryl Crow, Guster, Barenaked Ladies, and countless others and played in venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall and the HORDE tour. He occasionally records and tours with Dan Bern and is seeking guitar manufacturers to license the Cellocaster design- Fender, Gibson, PRS, Washburn, etc. This is the next evolution of the guitar, as evidenced early on by the bowed electric guitar solos of Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page and numerous other guitar innovators.

  • Hey Danny, thanks for the comment! I think a Cellocaster could add a lot to the sound of your band They Might Be Giants. I'll let you know when I find a manufacturer.

  • Hi Paul, this is a great demo and a revolutionary and entertaining instrument. Very exciting! Best of luck.

  • grat instrument, i was wondering about it sizes...

  • yes: kids aren't great xD

  • Thanks man! Yes, the bridge and fingerfoard is curved, which allows you to bow individual strings. :D

  • This is genius. I hope you find a willing manufacturer! Though it's a niche instrument, it shouldn't be that hard to sell, as it appeals to three types of musicians at once, and an endless amount of possible styles and applications. Combining it with the phrase looper really gives it a great one-man band feel. I would totally buy one of these.

  • Paul, you're very talented and that's quite an invention!

  • Uncle Paul!!!! Nice video man!!! looks awesome. Can't wait till you get it manufactured! Love, Ryan

  • Hi Paul! You look and sound great my friend!

The cellocaster has an amazing sound, and a beautiful, elegant and very sexy look! I am confident it will become a classic among the finest!
