Sit Down For Your Rights: The Morton West Story

On November 11th over 70 students staged an anti war sit in at Morton West High School in Berwyn Illinois. 38 of the students that participated were suspended and threatened with expulsion. This is a documentary short telling their story. Please leave your comments bellow the video.

Actually I don't go to Morton West. I go to Oak Park River Forest. I made an 80 min documentary film on the antiwar movement last summer and decided to make a short about the sit in, which occurred right after I finished my documentary film.

These kids are just nobodys they dont know shiit this schooll might be poor but if you take addvantage of the sports you can get a scholarship. And Plus these kids are ugly and nerd thats why they dnt fit in most of the kids at these school are mexican

@Colosimo98 I know Babara personally, she is a good friend of mine. And I know those boys too, I've had a fair few conversations with all 3 of them, they are intelligent, I'll admit not necessarily in "book-smarts", but in equality and fairness, they are well versed. I heard those teachers say those things to them, and even I wanted to yell at those counselors and teachers myself. It seems to me colosimo98 that you have no idea how the world works, and are still as i like to call it, and others

Pardon me, but would you care to tell me what kind of education Morton is giving if a student who was not allowed to graduate there at Morton West, with a core diploma, mind you, and now is graduating with an A.P./Honors Diploma in Iowa? I personally went to that school, did you? If not how would you know? How about i school you in how Morton West treats their students, even those that did not participate in this protest. You really need to get your facts straight.

btw i remember when all this happened...i'm out of morton now, I'm now at another hs in west desmoines as a super senoir, cause Morton counselors and principal refused to talk with me about letting me graduate, all because i failed one class. that was a year ago, now i'm just about done doing government here in west des moines, alternative school currently with a 3.2 G.P.A. and 42 credits going on 43, once I'm done with this class. I wouldve graduated with a core diploma in IL, but now I'm
