I'll post a vid soon of the new mount setup. Basically the camera is not on a clamp at all now. We made a housing, with padding, that the camera sits in that bolts directly and solidly onto the bars. The idea was that the camera can no longer shake at all.
Oh so CLOSE! This looks 100 times better than the old clamp mount but the vibration makes it cut out. What a pain.
When it was on the old clamp, every vibration had to travel thru the bike, up the bars, thru the clamp, thru the aluminium join then into the camera.
now it just goes straight from the bars into the camera.
Before the camera would bounce around alot but the initial shock or impact of the vibration got filtered out a bit by all the stuff between the camera and the bike.
Now camera gets all the vibration directly and it seems as if it doesn't like it.
Buggeration!

  • Your picture quality is great on this, the vibration is way way better than mine (i'll get onto fixing mine when i get some time).....Only thing i found suspect about your camera box was the circle field of view, feels weird ;-)

  • Much nicer quality because it's not bouncing round and no image stabilisation needed.

The circle is 'cause with this setup I have to have the screen closed and I can't see the picture before I hit record.

The circular bit is the edges of the wide angle lens. In my other vids I just zoom in a tiny amount so they dissapear but this time I forgot. It is an interesting look tho ... If it had pigs it'd look kinda like a Pink Floyd video!

Haven't solved these problems yet, watch this space!

  • What is this place, looks great for a bit of racing around on a sunny day..

  • Actually, it's my dad's runway on his farm for light aircraft. There are two runways crisscrossed like and X, hence me going round a corner. Would be interesting to see a curved runway ...

Yes, there was much racing around by both me and him. He has an old Panther motorbike, from about 1950-ish I think, not sure.

Funny how as we get older we become more like children again ...
