  • The tank itself, brand new, was around 75 bucks (including filter) and with the plants, substrate, and fish...I'd say we dropped about 150 total. BTW, used tanks are a dime a dozen, and the algae eater outgrew the tank in less than a year. Be careful, maybe do a siamese algae eater, flying fox, or a bunch of ottos; those puffers are bastards to just about anything else if you have puffers in numbers.  We have 2 in a 38 gal. heavily planted community tank and they are super peaceful. Good luck
