@barbavassilis I think the slow rising was done on purpose. To add more contrast between the rising and the sudden forte at 3:24

Haunting music that was played throughout the ceremony at Munich the day after the Israeli athletes were murdered at the Olympics

im looking at all these super sophisticated comments and all i notice is that the conductor is making a hilarious face the whole time :D
-
I didn´t like at all!!!! There is no intensity here!!! :(

Cred ca am ascultat de 100 de ori aceasta dar mi se pare ca am ascultat-o prima data

Yeah, slower tempo, but having heard this many times, I kind of like the variation
-
@YTM021807 its not unwanted... im playing this with my class and its is very intended by beetoven when he compsoed it

@YTM021807 Just personal preference, which is totally distorted by my familiarity with a different rendition. You could say the version I know is too slow! Either way, I'm sure we both agree that it's sublime:)

I get the chills from this - I imagine myself as a king rising to the throne.

My dream is to conduct this
-
you mean that you have it faster ??
i wished not to be faster but slower
there are two parts
the first is no allegro
i believe that when it's slower is more dynamic
-
I liked this slower pace better than the recording I have. Why do you wish it was faster?
-
i didn't like this performance anyway
two fast at the begining and yes i can see the problem at 3.00
I agree with Barbavassilis on this one, though that's because the rendition I'm most familiar with is slightly slower. I think this works, though as far as I can hear there's an unwarranted increase in tempo at 7:50, and it doesn't sound right, even compared to what preceded (which for my taste is slightly too fast anyway). Still amazing though!!

@Eidos84 Why do you say: "there's an unwarranted increase in tempo at 7:50 " ??
To me there is no problem! On the contrary! It is a most impressive and correct tempo at 7:50
Even at 8:06 (which I suppose you will find to be even faster) I find consistent and extremely beautiful tempo.

One of the most famous Overtures
Very intense and full of Drama and power. (Typical Beethoven!)

I went to this concert and left the video recorder on "LP" speed mode (instead of the normal "SP" mode) to try to capture as much as possible with reasonable sharpness and not risking "end of tape". I had and judgement of not using the inferior "SLP" speed!!
And good luck too because was able to record the full concert!
