Just seeing her first time back on the air, with minimal restoration. Last operated about 30+ years ago. Tag from Mare Island dated 1954 marked tested "Good".

I put all the wiring back to original, removed modifications, and replaced the tubes, which were missing but two of them just yesterday. The band setting is on band 6, which goes from 306 kc up to 600 kc. Receiver frequency spec ranges from 15 kc to 600 kc. Good chance this one came off a WW2 sub but truthfully is unknown where she was used.

You are hearing a local AM broadcast station at 610 kc. about the best copy I could get of anything. Soooooo........ there is much more work is to be done to get her back into tip-top performance shape.

The goal is to receive the SAQ (from Grimerton, Sweden) Alexanderson Alternator, at 17.2 kc, when SAQ is on the air.

Maybe by this coming Christmas Eve, 2011!

Look for SAQ and in general, learn more about these amazing Alexanderson Alternators by doing a search on the internet.
