@mouie5 Im not an expert but pears and apples like a period of dormancy and frost.They lose their leaves in winter. I bet you don't get much frost in the carribean.

Hi Yolanda, Good information however, just a little lesson in Japanese. A Mikan is a similar to a Mandarin Orange (sometimes called Cuties or California Clementine.) The name you are looking for is Nashi. I lived in Japan for a couple of years and really loved them! (Mikan also)
