The british pound in the eyes at 5:00 is a nice touch, Derren. Subtlety seems to be Derren's trademark.

This shows how religions keep moving forward. 1,000,000 can pray for something huge and wonderful, yet only a small handful get what they asked for. The 999,990 who get nothing chock it up to "God didn't want me to have it" and you never hear about it again, but the 10 who "get an answer" get all the attention and effectively con the losers to keep believing.

What's interesting is that even when he's got a losing ticket (as seen in the dog racing episode), he's able to some how hypnotize the person behind the counter into paying out on a losing ticket. But that's another story, haha....

@absgawd Yes, but only by putting up gobs of his own money on every horse and then slipping the winning ticket to Kadisha. That's the point -- you CAN win every race. In fact, it's inevitable, but only if you bet on every horse. That's the system.

He should have only placed 5 pounds this last time and it wouldn't matter because the system was over and she had won a lot of money

I guess where it takes money to make money, the refunds were part of the production cost. But I would say that the show made money, and so did the one person who won.

*sigh* She obviously doesn't understand what she was told about how this was done. While the horses were running she's saying "How could I lose, I've been so lucky all this time?"
But I guess if people understood statistics, racing wouldn't be as popular as it is.

Saw the brand new Enigma show last night in Birmingham absolutely extraordinary
Met the man himself after the show too - Worth every single penny, he certainly give excellent value for money - Loved the Spirit Cabinet trick, poor girl, she did not have clue what was going on - LOL
The bit with his mum at the end, swigging from the wine bottle, was excellent
