The thing is Mariah has a very 'pop-ish' sound to her voice, mostly loved by teenagers, especially considering the kind of music she's been making lately!! Despite the fact that she has an amazing range and control, she just doesn't have that 'TONE' in her voice that classifies someone among much greater artists like Whitney!!

@FunPerkyGirl Hey,I agree with most of what you said.Madonna can't act,sing,and was told that she couldn't dance.yet, she is still successful;now how many people can do THAT?Hardly anyone can be successful without any marked talent So,she deserves some credit just on the strength that she achieved success despite the fact that she doesn't have talent in signing and acting.Also,most artist cannot successfully reinvent themselves.talent gave Madonna "lemons",and she made "lemonade".
