Thank you so much for posting these! I haven't seen them since they first aired.

It's hard to imagine Johansen ever not feeling cool.

They were cool! The first re-emergence of a male vocal in a long time!

The guitarist on the right is Thomas Trask, really under-rated guitarist, not Joe Perry.

@MrKirkenstein Does this comment include Syl?
I'm not sure if Johnny Thunders was all that influential in 1978, esp. to contemporaries like these guys (Rao and Trask). And it's not as if Mr. Thunders invented himself from scratch, either. These guys play an amazing set on the Live at The Bottom Live record.

A friend and I saw DJ & Co. at Bunky's in Madison on July 4th, 1978. I'm guessing this was the same tour, as they opened with Cool Metro. He did 2 shows, each 90 minutes. The shows were not duplicates; he had more Motown songs in the second set. Bunky's only held about 250 people. After the show, we drank a beer with Syl Sylvan and the drummer. Awesome guys...awesome show! Thirty -three years later, this music holds up so damn well. I'm still listening to it.
