On July 17, 2010, I ran (well, jogged, then walked, then crawled) the Kendall Mountain Run Half Marathon in Silverton, Colorado. This run starts in the town of Silverton at 9,318 feet in elevation and climbs to the peak of Kendall Mountain at 13,066 feet. About the last half mile is a scramble straight up the peak, sometimes on all fours. I'm so glad someone recommended gloves and gaiters to keep the dirt and pebbles out of my shoes. This was my first time, and it (me) wasn't pretty or fast, but the terrain and scenery were spectacular. I am a good example for anyone wanting to take a challenge but worried about time. I came in last at 6 hours, 46 minutes, but I finished!! And I'm glad I did because making it to the top of the Kendall Mountain Peak was so worth the effort. The views, as you'll see in this video, are phenomenal. That's Kendall Mountain behind me at the finish line in the photo at the end of this video. Stay tuned for next year's run!!
Great VIdeo! My dad runs this race every year and loves it
