WordPress - How To Install Themes Without Using FTP!

WordPress 2.8 introduces a great new feature - you can upload new Themes without having to use an FTP client! This video shows you how to install and activate a new theme in WordPress 2.8 using the new Add New Theme panel.

I don't have an 'install theme' tab or 'add new themes'. I just signed up for WP so it's the newest version and it's already making me hate it after 3hrs of trying to figure out how to install those damn themes. Any suggestions?

Hi all, please note that the Add new theme link has moved in more recent versions of Wordpress. To complete the steps in the video in Wordpress 3 onwards, go to Appearance > Themes and then select the Install Themes tab at the top of the page. In the resulting screen, you'll then see the small Upload link - click that and voila! Hope that helps :)........... PS - you'll need to make a new zip folder first - containing only the theme, no psd / documentation they generally include in download

I dont have the "add new themes" button! how do i get that?

Wordpress doesn't have the "Add New Themes" option anymore. So how can I make my own theme or upload a new theme?
