The Program in American Studies at Georgetown University was thrilled to host 1970's dance music legend D.C. LaRue during the spring of 2004. Mr. LaRue regaled us with marvelous tales of the disco era, the evolution of Disco and it's music as he knew it, his insights into the economics of the music business, and what might lie in store for popular music during the 21st century. Part 1 and Part 2 is video of the first 12 minutes of the lecture.
Georgetown University was also thrilled that Mr. LaRue was able to perform his wildly influential dance classic, Cathedrals, as well as some of his other infectious compositions. If Disco lives, it lives through the music of D.C. LaRue!

Hooked at the mention of the music legend that was Gene Page, very interesting lecture from a man that was deep in the mix at Disco’s perk!. Thank You!

Fascinating history by a very intelligent and creative survivor of the disco era. My older brother has 3 vinyl albums by DC Larue ... "I Wake Up Screaming in the Middle of the Night" is an amazing song from one of his albums!
