My brother recently became a victim of drunk driving. He was in the back seat and his friend who was intoxicated and driving. The driver was making turns at almost 100 MPH. He lost control of the car and hit a tree and my brother took all of the impact. He was trapped in the back of the car for 30-40 minutes. My brother received the worst of the accident. Both of his legs were shattered, broke both ankles, his lungs collapsed, he broke his ribs and bones in both shoulders, he sustained severe brain damage (part of his brain shifted with the hit and he was bleeding in 9 different places in his brain). He passed away twice that day in the hospital, but doctors revived him. Doctors told us to gather up my family because he wasn't going to make it through the night. My bother is currently beating the odds. He is slowly moving his legs and hands. He does not speak yet but does turn to look at you when you are talking to him. I have 3 brothers total. We are very close to each other. We are very crushed to see my brother go through this. My parents are devastated. The drunk driver sustained no injuries. I have heard stories similar to this hundreds of times but I never thought it would happen to someone I Love. I am so proud of your progress Koky. (Update: Koky is at home, his speech is normal...his memory is as clear as day...his math/reading skills are normal...we are very thankful to God for the miracle that he has let us witness)
