great Universal film I love it. Im a horror film sci historian. this 1936 classic still holds up. Lugosi & Karloff are great. better than the CRAP we see in films today. TKMKES
0.43-45, that's the same mining scene used in The Phantom Creeps, where Lugosi finds a rare element from an asteroid which is 'the source of all his power' - makes him invisible, makes explosive homing spiders put people to sleep, powers his Iron Man robot, that kinda thing...
Hey look, I own this movie too!! OMG this has the ending that is on JackBenny1924's Lugosi, Lorre and Karloff tribute. At first I thought it was Lorre, who jumps out of the building on fire, but it was Karloff in this movie when he implodes in himself!
Bela Lugosi looks awesome with a beard.

For 1936, this movie had some amazing special effects.

Yes they did that a lot with those cheepie B movie serials. Stock footage was used a lot back in the day.

Ohh Mality, Lugosi does play the good guy, but he is a jerk at the same time...he thinks he is something special, all that and the microscope!
