Getting out of a playboat is way easier than it looks. You have foot pedals that you use to push yourself up and into the straps. If you slide back more than an inch (easily done by relaxing your feet) the straps become quite loose.

If your still worried, most straps do have quick releases. If not, you can buy a quick release clip similar to those used on ww rescue belts, cut the webbing in a good spot for the buckle and feed the webbing through.

  • @tecnolover2642: My thoughts exactly. I've gotten my leg caught in the thigh straps in rapids when I've eaten it and as a result I've just removed the straps till I can come up with a single quick-release buckle for my boat. Open boating takes skill which is long in coming.

  • @tecnolover2642 if you want out of an ww canoe - with straps or more...you can get out. ;)

  • do a barrel roll! yes you can!

  • @GenonUK Wow! And I thought I was something because I can dive out of a canoe and get back in without tipping it over.

    Very nice!
