also if they use negative or positive pressure in order to keep the seal air-tight.

@pksafetysupply Hey thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

@CanJ0n Wearing any sort of mask has plus and minus factors. The filters will work until they are filled up with dust, and then you change them. No problem there. I'll assume that you are going to wear a respirator in any event. The full face is (in my opinion) a bit more comfortable. Some folks may feel it is confining or impairs their peripheral vision. So do fogged up glasses. The weather is cool now, but in summer you may find the full mask can feel warmer.

@pksafetysupply Yes, I have seen the insert. One more question, though. Would it be a good idea to wear this thing for 10 hours plus? I would probably only wear it 3-4 hours straight. But I want to make sure I'll be safe. For instance, I don't want to suffocate myself or something or hurt myself by not getting enough oxygen. Thanks for all your help thus far. Great customer service.
doing a project on asphalt paving, and some sources have informed me that the 3M™ 5000 Series Organic Vapor Respirator, P10 is what i should look into. Its not really the respirator itself or the cartridges im interested in, its more for the airtight seal. Was wondering if you guys knew what exactly the type of seal it was, thanks.

@newjlc A full face respirator offers a better, more consistent seal than a half mask, and is assigned a higher protection factor as a result. A soft rubber-like compound molds to the face. To filter the air you are going to breathe, inhaling draws outside air through appropriate cartridges or filters. During this action, the pressure within the mask changes from ambient to negative. When exhaling, the flapper valve system allows the used air out of the mask. Then the cycle begins again.

Protects from NBC??????????
aza9825 3 weeks ago
@aza9825 The 3M 60926 cartridge is applicable for some NBC items, and fits the 6000 series full face respirator. However, the bulk of the so-called NBC filters are only for use on masks with DIN connectors. We don't stock/sell those.

Can this mask be used with NATO 40mm filters? For emergency uses such as a pathogen break out or biochemical gasses, etc.?
jpap967 1 month ago
@jpap967 The 3M 6000 full face respirator will only accept the 3M 1/4 turn style cartridges. They do make a variety of cartridges and filters, with some of them having application in the WMD area. Check the 60926 cartridge. I would suggest looking on the 3M website to research the available products. Since the potential challenge is not predictable, you will need to see what trade-offs you want to accept, as there are no 'universal' cartridges. Even military filters have limits.
