i dont know how to take a normal picture its stuck on video. i hav an olympus to its the same stuff just different colore an button shape

@hardyboy316 ----- On the main screen, there are options in the top right hand corner. Push the right arrow button and then the options will be moved and you should see how to switch it back to picture mode. I hope that helps. :)

format is to format your sd card and another is read the manual it will tell you what all the features are its a nice camera iso is your brightness and dark
