Dramatic Entrance in Cologne Cathedral

The Archbishop of Cologne heads into Cologne Cathedral (at the 0:57 mark) behind an entourage of about 200 people, drastically outnumbering the 5 people that accompanied my church's priest growing up.

@Siegerzkranz Yes, so true. God forbid you believe or have faith nowadays. I'm sooo tired of people bashing the Catholic Church. This so called "Christian' churches "accept" everyone, yet, in my opinion, they are the most judgemental people. They should judge themselves first. And they all say, "the Catholic Church didn't do anything for me" so they choose cafeteria style "religion". They pick and choose what's good or not good for them.

If one is comfortable in ones faith, one ought not worry of what others think. There are all kinds of vandals at the Door. As for cherry picking; we all've done. It's our nature to do so. Afterall, we may've been cherry pic'd by God.(?) the clip is lovly by the way. Thanks.

Because people like to think that it's more fun being atheist, or more 'trendy' or whatever. Christianity is the 'your Dad's religion'. it's not 'Cool' to be Catholic, especially, because everyone thinks all Catholics are pervs, or that organized religion is eeeeevil... the list goes on.

@alwellus Interesting comment. I remember sitting near the chapel at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna when the priest and altar boys came out of an exterior door heading for the chapel for I assume Benediction. The priest had a spectacular cope on, and a biretta !! Yes BIRETTA ! I haven't seen one of those except in high Episcopal churches in eons. The question then is - so with so many magnificent churches, music, etc. in Europe, why is Catholicism there near death? Really Christianity period?

As to the rank of the presiding prelate, only the Ordinary of the Diocese has the priviledge of the croiser. Outside of his diocese, he may not use it, unless he is an archbishop and is installing a suffigan bishop in his new diocese.

Audinos, you are so right. That guitar crap that is so foolishly permitted in American parishes is a sorry passing for Catholic Liturgy and worship. If Bishops would excerise their authority, that could be easily corrected and stopped!
