A character I made walking around transparent and reflective objects. Made with blender, took about 10 hours to render. Music from http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=22310

  • You must have helluva good hardware to render out something like this. You could try doing one version with hdri lighting - that would be a serious eye-candy.

  • I only have an "oldish" Athlon XP 2800+, with radiosity rendering, it would have taken 10 times longer. Thanks for the suggestion, I will be sure to try.

  • @hazzard77 That little glass ball that rotates would take like 30 minutes a frame with blenders own renderer :( Its not that good.

  • Uhh, there were no caustics anywhere...

You should only use Yafray if you want caustics, I could render all of that using Blender only, in less than 30 minutes.

  • lol kwl

  • lol! way cute!

  • but 3min per frame is quite fast .. i have a dualcore 2.0ghz 64bit and running mac with 64bit and this seems to be fast even to me :) in which resolution did you render it ? and how many fps ? 3min would be at 24fps
