The "faculty of objective perception" = the cognitive process? It's about the tendency to see objects.
What is the relationship of the dreamer to the objects of the dream?
The cognitive process gives rise to the notion of Creation.
The relationship of our awareness to the objects of awareness is an intimate one.
We need to get rid of the underlying preconception that there is a 'me' here and a world "out there".

Chapter Two
The stories of the Yoga Vasistha can be rather baffling. This is because we try to understand them with our intellect. If we are in touch with our own sense of being then something might resonate.
The story of Akasaja. Death is really the fruition of previous karma. But Death cannot touch Akasaja so Death went to Lord Yama (Destiny). Yama told Death that he doesn't have any power at all, death is only the result of karma, so he instructs death to investigate Akasaja's past actions. Death couldn't find Akasaja's karma.
Akasaja is very much a dream being, like a barren woman's son. He is a causeless manifestation, "self-created". This is the fundamental characteristic of our reality.
