I always enjoy this video... Thanks..

what sort of little engine are they useing it sounds like its a small diesel dressed up like a steam engine but from the rear it looks like a porter engine

hmm I am less than 10 miles from here in a motel in barstow I must go ride this

The ride looks interesting, though I am dissapointed by two things. First, it's not a "real" steam locomotive. I think it is a real steam engine, but it was modified to be driven by an internal combustion engine. Second, the "Guide" pointing out off the sights and what not had a very dull tone. Almost as if he's jsut there to earn a pay-check. ^^;
I hope that I can get out there someday soon. It looks like a really neat place. Not to mention I'm a sucker for Western history! XD

i went there but didnt go on the train because it was raining.if you go bring your quads or some kind of ohv other than a dirt bike. its way to rocky to even get out of third or second gear.its cool in the hills if you go to the right from calico.there is some open mines you can go pretty deep into.

Hey man thanx sooo much for posting this video!!!!
I have been across the ocean in sunny California last summer, and couldn't miss visiting Calico and taking the train, but I couldn't film it...That's amazing, I feel as I was there on that very day....What a magic.....
Though I'm living in the opposite side of the world, my heart is still in the far west....America is such a wonderful place!!!
