My dad built this Dr. Pepper can rocket using the two engines that didn't light in the Trifecta. (I had to forcibly remove them with pliers since the glue dried and we didn't trust them in a real rocket.)

The engines were 2x A8-3.

It launched but obviously wasn't stable -- flipping end-over-end in the air. At the time we thought the second stage ignited, but that was just the ejection charge of the first stage.

Also we know a staged rocket should have a 0 second delay but we were mainly just using up the rockets we didn't trust.

So sorry about my daughter crying in the background -- she wanted to climb down to me but it wasn't safe.

  • you should have fashioned a nose cone for that, and attached the can rocket to a long stick, and launch it out of a steel pipe. I still loved it though :)

  • A stick would have been a good idea, though it probably could've done without the nose cone (or with a stick wouldn't need the can!) Alas, I was not the rocket engineer for this project. Still fun!
