There is a local military surplus and he charges $7 for each. I was thinking of doing my own also. My wife has a food dehydrator and the seal a meal so I will see. I just wonder how long of a shelf life these would have?

@Salien1999 I have heard of vegetarian MRE's, but there is a very limited selection. So I work towards stocking a wide assortment (vegetarian, beef, homemade) as well as a bit of pork. I keep a few pork options on hand for company, so I don't have to share my favourites!

@citysurvivalist Neat video, i was planning on making individual food packs instead of just having my emergency food supply boxes. I was going to get $5 fuel tabs from botach and the cheap milsurp fold out stoves. for the house, i may stock up on propane tanks, hey bbq every night for wrol :-)

Bollion cubes are flavoring you put in food like the packs in ramen noodles

Nice it was a good video but you need more action maby some explosions and a car chase or two but othere then that good job..
Who pays $80 a case for MREs, most I ever paid was $25, and if I buy 5 at a time I only pay $20 a pice, but still would be cheaper to make my own from strach

@Obamalovingbums Exactly you live in a very convenient place, not everyone does... there aren't any bases or surplus stores in my area or in many other areas, thus we have to purchase them via internet, and since your not going to share your source a lot of people pay $70-$80 per case... that was your original comment correct?

I have a life threatening allergy to pork and have found it very difficult to find pork free products, so making my own MRE's is pretty much the way to go in my situation. Thanks for putting up this video, it gave me a couple new ideas!
