Burroughs counted racism as one of society's dangerous addictions. He did use politically incorrect words, though. Give him a break. He was born in 1914.
He also refused to ever change for anyone. He was an honest-to-god freak his whole life. The real deal, like an alien from another planet.

Interesting note about Monroe's machines. There are machines that can cause 'externalization' - astral projections. I know because I helped build one. They use arrays of crystals and magnets, and can be enhanced with electronics. With it, someone without much psychic ability can project like the pros. Trouble is it can attract some bad attention from people and entities who don't want the public - the livestock - to have access to these abilities
