This video is an update of using a Neo magnet to pulse an Ignition Coil with 12 volts DC. I have found that Neo magnet (which are conductive) create a self oscillation when you use one strand of thin copper wire to pulse on the surface of the magnet. Play around with it an learn how it works. One thing to keep in mind is electricity travels in a circular motion or polarity around the wire, so if your copper wire sticks to the magnet then you need to try it on the other side of the magnet.

  • wat r them caps in yhe backround out of

  • @abo43446le

picked them up on ebay from the US for $10. ea. 3900uF 400v. I use then on some of my experiments.

  • Very interesting! Will this work with other types of strong magnets (I have some ceramic magnets salvaged from microwave oven magnetrons)?

  • Neo magnets have a conductive surface on them. Ceramics don't, but you can try a piece of thin conductive sheet metal on the magnet and see if it start an oscillation.

  • what are the best caps to us in a tesla coil ? and are they AC or DC current

  • I took same size wire, and added a tiny coil just before the contact with the magnet, this greatly improved actual resonance

  • what are neo magnets, you mean those rare earth magnets -"neodymium magnets"

  • will you short the curcuit if the wires are joined at the top???

  • @evolution2015 just thought I would post that you will find more elctronics in the dumpsters of apt blgs @the end of the mont or just after the first thats when people move and discard un wanted electronics, I have and continue to pick up un wanted Microwaves TV's and the like. Now I very rarley give my $ to the suppliers except for solder Ic's pots and the like and if you buy on-line,,"AVNET " is the best price I think

  • I'm not sure what exactly neo magnet has to do with all that stuff, but it will demagnetize very shortly - that's firm. Another thing - ignition coil is good for sparks up to 1.25" by itself, all you need is a good driver. have fun though... may be someone will discover new law of physics :)

  • HMMMMMMM..... ?????

  • i wonder what would happen with some cat-whiskers on some iron pyrite thats a semiconductor
